This weekend I taught a Make & Take on how to make these little lovelies - they're really easy to do and a great way to use up your fabric scraps and all those fun trimming you haven't been able to part with. I hope you'll try one yourself! I also brought some yummy trifle - check out this post for the recipe.

Step
1. Determine a Design
Gather your materials and decide how you
would like to design your card – in the examples shown above, included
stamped images and appliquéd hearts –
your card can include all or just a few of these elements.
Step 2. Decorate your Muslin
Once, you’ve
figured out your elements you’ll want to add your elements to a scrap of
muslin.
If you plan to appliqué a heart, decide if you want to put some trim in the background
and glue it into place, then hand sew your heart onto the muslin. Sew on any additional embellishments like a
button or a paper flower before gluing onto your playing card.
Use quick drying
ink to stamp your image onto a piece of muslin –
embellish with embroidery thread, buttons or glitter paint.
Step
3. Glue in Place and add Finishing
touches
Once you’ve
finished preparing your muslin, use a glue stick to cover one side of the
playing card and affix your decorated muslin to the card.
Add some finishing touches- use the printable fabric to print out some words of affection or encouragement – cut them out and glue to your card – finish off your card with more trim – another piece of fabric glued to the back and a pin (optional).
And there you have it! The perfect little handmade lovely to wear or give to someone special! Enjoy!
